Accumulation Systems
FILO and FIFO Accumulators

Features and Benefits

  • Pictured are examples of FILO and FIFO Accumulation Systems.
  • FILO (First In - Last Out product flow) and FIFO (First In - First Out product flow) refer to the relative manner in which the flow of product is managed while in accumulation.
  • Most conventional means of off line accumulation are considered relative FILO accumulation systems ie. bi-directional accumulation tables or mass flow switch back accumulation.
  • Products that require batch lot tracking or tracked quality control would be candidates for FIFO accumulation ie. zoned uni-directional accumulation tables.
